Delete your Ominies account
Last updated: May 16, 2026
Ominies is operated by an individual sole proprietor based in the Arab Republic of Egypt. This page explains how to request deletion of your Ominies account and your associated data, what we delete, and what (if anything) we keep.
1. Cancel your subscription first (if you have one)
If you have an active Ominies Pro subscription, please cancel it before deleting your account. Apple and Google do not allow third parties to cancel store-managed subscriptions on your behalf, so deleting your Ominies account does not by itself stop future renewals.
- Google Play: play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions
- App Store:open Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Ominies.
2. Delete from inside the app (recommended)
If you still have access to the app, you can delete your account in under a minute — no email required.
- Open Ominies on your phone and sign in.
- Tap the Profile tab in the bottom navigation bar.
- Scroll down and tap Delete my account.
- Read the warning, type DELETE in the confirmation field, and tap Delete.
Deletion is processed by our backend immediately and you are signed out automatically. There is no recovery period.
3. Can’t access the app? Request deletion by email
If you have uninstalled Ominies, lost your phone, or otherwise cannot sign in, email us and we will delete your account on your behalf:
- Send to: support@ominies.com
- Subject: Delete my Ominies account
- From: the email address associated with your Ominies account (so we can verify the request belongs to you).
- Body:“Please delete my Ominies account and the data linked to it.”
We will verify the request, process it within 30 days (typically the same business day), and reply to confirm once your data has been removed.
4. What we delete
Account deletion permanently and irreversibly removes the following from our database:
- Your authentication record (email address and the link to Sign in with Apple or Google).
- Your Ominies profile (name and avatar).
- Your full search history and any restaurants or dishes you have viewed.
- Every dish rating and comment you have submitted. Your contribution to the public dish score is removed from the aggregate; the dish’s remaining mentions are kept.
- Your favorited restaurants and dishes, including any private notes.
- The hashed device identifiers we used to enforce free-tier limits.
5. What we keep (and why)
A small amount of information is retained for a limited time, either to prevent abuse, to satisfy store-platform rules, or because it has already been pseudonymised so it no longer identifies you.
- Deletion tombstone — up to 30 days. We keep a record containing only a one-way SHA-256 hash of your email address, SHA-256 hashes of the device identifiers previously linked to your account, and the current calendar month’s usage counters. We use it to prevent abuse of free-tier limits through repeated re-signups within the same month. The tombstone cannot be reversed into your email or device identifiers and is automatically deleted at the end of the retention period.
- Subscription record — indefinitely. If you ever purchased Ominies Pro, your subscription record with our subscription provider (RevenueCat) is preserved so that “Restore Purchases” continues to work if you reinstall the app with the same Apple or Google account. This record does not include your name, email, or any data you generated inside Ominies.
- Pseudonymous analytics and crash logs — default Firebase retention. Event-level usage analytics and crash diagnostics collected through Firebase are retained per Firebase’s default policy. After account deletion they are no longer linked to any account identifier on our side.
- Support correspondence — as long as needed. If you have emailed us, we keep the contents of your messages and our replies for as long as needed to handle the request and any follow-up.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with advertising networks or data brokers, before or after deletion.
